Chess clubs of Bucharest and Ilfov 52

Nearly every chess club in Bucharest is a sports association, an ACS or a CS, affiliated to the Romanian chess federation, and the federation’s register is the one list that names them all. Many register entries give an officer’s flat as the address, so those cards carry no street. The clubs with the most visible life teach and organise on their own: CS Oxigen, the sports club of the Sector 2 council, The Square in Sector 2, Chess Station in Sector 4, the Mihail Marin club in Sector 6 and ChessMasters in Sector 1.

Others appear mainly as organisers on the tournament server: ACS Jocul Celor 3 Cai with its long series at Hotel CARO, CS Alcor with junior events in Militari, ACS Arnia Chess IT with the Bucharest Scheveningen and CS DLD Kids with rapids by the Parcul Național. In Ilfov there are clubs in Otopeni, Snagov, Chitila, Buftea and smaller towns. A few, CS Dinamo, ACS Rozmarin, ACS Elisabeta Polihroniade and CS Tinerii Maestri, show up only as organisers of events held elsewhere in Romania, so their cards name no playing place in the city. A club known from nothing but its register entry is marked unconfirmed.
